THE IMPORTANCE OF SOCIAL MEDIA

The challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 necessitated a heightened emphasis on building a robust online presence, swiftly becoming a top priority early in the year. Leveraging social media platforms became instrumental in disseminating crucial information about organizational updates, event modifications, and procedural changes.

In my role at the Cochrane & Area Humane Society, I significantly amplified the social media following between 2019 - 2021, when the following report was created. Through the implementation of a comprehensive social media content strategy, I increased user engagement and interaction, resulting in higher shares, follows, and ultimately, greater adoption rates. Showcasing adoptable animals through captivating short videos, reels, stories, and the popular 'kitten cam' series, I effectively captured the hearts of potential adopters, leading to tangible and heartwarming outcomes for the organization.

An celebratory email received from previous Executive Director of the Cochrane Society for Housing Options, Corinne Burns, in 2021 to celebrate the substantial growth in online followers that resulted in community awareness and enhanced brand visibility which allowed for the 'best week ever for sales' at Home Reno Heaven (the social retail venture specializing in donation and sales of second-hand home renovation items owned by the the Cochrane Society for Housing Options that supports their mission for affordable housing).
